The last day in Cusco before we headed to Machu Pichu was spent trawling around more museums…
Here is just a selection of photos from different places…some fun ones, some daft ones….Beautiful pottery
Skeleton, we do like these kind of things
And a mummy, this one was a musician. His tomb had lots of instruments
Charlie with his Inca flute
Some local kids…
Local handicraft. These gourds are made of coconuts, scooped out and carved very finely
On the way to Urubamba and the sacred valley we went past these salt mines
We were booked for 3 night in Urubamba in a Airbnb run by a Finnish girl, Henna. The place is beautiful and no tv!
We chilled, going to parks, eating pizza and playing with this most adorable cat we nicknamed Kitkat. It slept in our room for two nights. If I could have taken her with us…..when we left I cried….over the cat…Finally we were on our way to Machu Pichu. I have been waiting for 40 odd years for this moment…..was it what I expected? Not quite….
