SHELTER BAY MARINA

Arrived to shelter bay Marina which is right inside the entrance to Panama Canal. Saw couple of ships although not very big ones.

Finally inside it was kid heaven. Lots of kids from around the world, a pool and a captains lounge to die for. Tv, comfy sofas and a great book swap.

Friends for everybody and couple of girlie friends for Alice.

Doing school every morning in air con and a working wifi is a pleasure and afternoons is spent by the pool unless it’s rain.

The rain drives me potty. It rained whole weekend, the pool felt cold and all the kids were watching tv or ipadding. Although that’s not bad as we rarely get all that.
Had to wash some pants and underwear and it took 4 days to dry…..

Today I finally dragged my big sorry looking wash bag to the laundry and got it washed and dried. What a pleasure.

Couple of kiddi boats left yesterday and today so the mood is slightly off. Always difficult when people leave. This time Charlie got quite upset……

Got our brand new generator. Nice…..but what a palaver that was to get inside the boat. Took us and couple of guys around 3 hours and on top of that the heavens opened. Now it’s sitting inside the boat but not in place. Chris has got few more things to sort out before this baby gets its new home. Messy though…….

The happy hour is always great. Sit inside in aircon and watch vh1 classic 80 music videos or outside and chat to other cruisers. Met some lovely people, everyone with great stories and most of them going through the canal. Met some old faces, some we seen couple of weeks ago and some we haven’t seen for couple of years.

Chris is helping a boat through the canal tomorrow as a line handler, shame we can’t join them, but maybe our turn will come end of year.
